Stephen Brown graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1995.While attending the University, he was especially active in intramural tennis and founded a chapter of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He has served as chapter president and vice president of the alumni association.
Upon graduating, he was hired as a second grade teacher for the Clark County School District and immediately fell in love with the intrinsic rewards of teaching. He reveled in the fact that his colleagues worked toward a common, focused goal to empower and enrich children's lives. His second experience in the field of education was as an Art teacher. He has also had the opportunity to teach first, third and eighth grade. Eight years ago he became an Educational Computing Strategist. As an ECS, it is his responsibility to ensure that teachers design and develop curriculum infused with technology.
In addition to facilitating adult learning groups on a daily basis, he is also in charge of maintaining over 300 computers and serves as a Novel Network Administrator. During his first three years of teaching, he earned a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Lesley College and 32 additional credits from Chapman University. Life since then has been a whirlwind of taking and facilitating classes. He is currently an online facilitator with PBS TeacherLine and is also a University of Phoenix Faculty Member. As a Professional Development Education and University instructor, he has facilitated a multitude of graduate level courses.
He is married to his soulmate, Heather and is the proud father of four girls. His passion is sailing on Lake Mead with his family.
