About Us
PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest Logo

Vegas PBS is launching the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest, a national competition designed to promote the advancement of children’s reading skills through hands-on, active learning.  This new contest extends the powerful tradition and annual success of the 15 year national Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest. The effort encourages children in grades K-3 in Southern Nevada and communities across the country, to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original stories and illustrations.

All area children in grades K-3 are eligible to compete. Illustrations are required, and a word count limit (by grade level) is strictly enforced. Entries in braille and languages other than English are accepted, but must be accompanied by an English translation.

Stories are due to Vegas PBS by 5pm on Friday, March 26, 2010.
