Manufacturing and Logistics
Many industries in Nevada are linked to manufacturing and logistics, such as mining, natural resources, hospitality and tourism, and construction.
Manufacturing careers include research, design, development, test automation, smart devices, or industrial systems control and include processing materials. Manufacturing facilities are often described as plants, factories, or mills and typically use power-driven machines and materials-handling equipment.
Skills needed: analytical, computer, engineering and technology, mathematics, mechanical, design, electronics, active listening, complex problem solving, critical thinking, and reading comprehension.
Logistics includes transporting and warehousing goods. It consists of the four transportation modes (trucking, rail, air, and marine) as well as Postal Services, couriers and messengers, and warehousing and storage.
Skills needed: computer, critical thinking, active listening, reading comprehension, deductive reasoning, problem-solving, oral comprehension, and oral expression.
