LAS VEGAS, NV — Vegas PBS is excited to announce the addition of a fourth channel to its free, over-the-air line up. Up until now, the Vegas PBS WORLD Channel has only been available to viewers on Cox Cable 114. On June 13, 2022, the Vegas PBS WORLD Channel 10.4 will become available for free to all viewers. Vegas PBS WORLD offers world news, documentaries, and fact-based content covering public affairs, culture, science and more.
“I have wanted to have Vegas PBS WORLD included in our over-the-air service since starting at Vegas PBS, and I am very pleased to bring that goal to fruition,” said Mare Mazur, Vegas PBS President and General Manager. “The programming offered on WORLD examines issues too often ignored by mainstream media and gives emerging filmmakers the ability to spotlight a diversity of voices, telling stories not heard elsewhere.”
This channel addition is the result of an upgrade in the master control system, which is part of the station’s strategy of investing in technology to provide our community with broader and more consistent services. Viewers must rescan their antennas in order to receive this new channel on their television sets.
Expanding the WORLD reach provided an opportunity for Vegas PBS to review its resource allocations. On May 31, 2022, the station ceased to broadcast its two reprise cable only channels Rewind and Jackpot! In addition to Vegas PBS Channel 10.1, viewers have free access to Vegas PBS Create Channel 10.2 and VEGAS PBS KIDS Channel 10.3 with 24/7 educational programming. Vegas PBS remains committed to bringing viewers in Southern Nevada the best of public media over the air and online.
