Vegas PBS Ready To Learn collaborates with local schools and community partners to deliver high-quality, research-based educational programs that stengthen the educational impact of PBS KIDS content. CPB and PBS commissioned independent researchers to conduct the following studies, of which Vegas PBS Ready To Learn was a participant.
Strategies for Success in Community Partnerships: Case Studies of Community Collaboratives for Early Learning and Media provides insights into strategies associated with success in community partnerships focused on early learning and family engagement that targeted children in families in under-resourced communities. This research can benefit anyone interested in forming, managing, improving or funding community partnerships.
The Ready To Learn Initiative 2015-2020 Grant Summary summarizes the multi-year accomplishments of the CPB-PBS Ready To Learn Initiative (2015-2020) that was funded by the U.S. Department of Education. To set the stage for future success for children, CPB and PBS developed free, high-quality science and literacy television series, digital games and apps, streaming content, parent and educator resources, and community engagement materials implemented by Vegas PBS and station colleagues to improve school readiness skills for kids ages 2-8.
PBS KIDS ScratchJr FCL Workshop Implementation Study details an implementation study of the PBS KIDS ScratchJr Family and Community Learning (FCL) Workshop, developed as part of the CPB-PBS Ready To Learn Initiative. PBS KIDS Family and Community Learning is a four-session workshop that engages families and children ages 5–8 in creative coding through the use of the PBS KIDS ScratchJr app.
