Sixty years after Quincy Jones first moved to Paris in his early 20s, he still thinks of the city as a second home. In Quincy Jones: A Musical Celebration in Paris, the celebrated musician, producer and composer revisits the City of Light and performs in front of a capacity crowd at the AccorHotels Arena. Bringing together nearly 100 world-class musicians, including a symphony orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley and a line-up of special guests, Jones puts on a show that celebrates a collection of songs from his remarkable career.
Quincy Jones: A Musical Celebration in Paris takes viewers on a musical journey through a range of musical genres he’s dabbled in throughout his illustrious career. From the popular instrumental “Soul Bossa Nova,” to the pop hit “Billie Jean,” to the blues classic “Let the Good Times Roll," Jones’ vast variety of work and musical influence is on full display throughout the concert.
The program also celebrates Jones’ highly successful collaboration with pop superstar Michael Jackson and features vocalist Jonah Nilsson and viral French dance sensation Salif Geuye performing “Thriller,” which is now approaching its 40th anniversary. Plus, Vula Malinga sings additional Jones/Jackson hits “PYT,” “Wanna Be Startin' Something” and “Man in the Mirror.”
Jones’ versatile talent has helped shape the music industry since the 1950s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 and he’s second on the list of all-time Grammy award wins.
